Leadership
Junior and Teen Leadership programs help youth develop into responsible, self-directed, productive citizens of the world.

Summer Camp
Youth learn about nature, develop new skills, have fun with others.  Camp is led by youth and supervision and council from adults.

Youth: Approximately 1000 Alameda County youth of diverse backgrounds, ages 9 - 19, are involved in 4-H.  Many clubs also have a Mini 4-H, or Primary Member, program for youth from 5 to 8 years old. They live in cities and in rural areas.

Volunteers: Volunteers plan programs to enrich the lives of students and to solve priority youth problems.  Nearly 400 adults work directly with 4-H youth throughout the year.  They work with kids, conduct county events and promote 4-H.

Parents: A special support group of adults who listen, questions, and react in helpful ways as project leaders, and advisors.

4-H Staff: In consultation with Youth Development staff, volunteers manage the 4-H system and work with youth.

Other Support: Support for 4-H comes from University of California Cooperative Extension staff, Alameda County Board of Supervisors, 4-H Leaders' Council and U.S. Department of Agriculture.
